Cologuard is developed by Exact Sciences who is committed to helping win the war on cancer through early detection. Cologuard is the first and only FDA approved stool DNA noninvasive screening test that finds both cancer and precancer cells.

The United States Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) recommends screening for colorectal cancer using fecal occult blood testing, sigmoidoscopy, or colonoscopy in adults, beginning at age 50 years and continuing until age 75 years. The USPSTF stated in August 2015 that evidence is insufficient to assess the benefits of fecal DNA testing in screening for colorectal cancer.
