The 2017 Leapfrog Hospital Survey is now open for hospitals to complete. The Leapfrog Hospital Survey is the only nationally standardized and endorsed measure set that captures hospital performance in patient safety, quality and resource utilization.
A letter containing security codes and information about completing the survey will be mailed to the CEO of each hospital starting in April 2017. The survey must be completed and submitted by Friday, June 30 in order for results to be included in Leapfrog’s first release of its 2017 survey results. The results will be released in late July and will fully replace the 2016 survey results.
Participation in the survey helps make it possible for purchasers and consumers to compare hospital’s performance in areas such as:
- Medication error prevention
- Mortality for common high-risk-surgeries
- Treatment of common conditions
- Maternity care
- Rates of certain hospital-acquired conditions
Purchasers use the results from the Leapfrog survey to raise consumer awareness about patient safety and to recognize and reward those hospitals that participate and make progress toward the “leaps” or process improvements.
